Socotra: Unique Destination in The Indian

Did ye hear of Socotra? It is an archipelago in the Indian Ocean, east of the Horn of Africa. All the islands are part of Yemen and Socotra, while the main and largest island, there are other smaller islands and many islets.

Socotra is 132 km long and 35 km wide. It is located about 480 km from the Arabian Peninsula and is an island of magical scenery. For its geographical location and the other islands it had always been in the sights of other countries passed through here so the British and Portuguese for centuries.

Their isolation and heat which have always generated a great endemic flora. There are beaches, dunes, plains, many caves and high mountains. It rains in the winter but in general the climate is rather arid and the monsoon winds and terrible waves make the island is not an easy destination to reach. Luckily since 1999 has its own airport.
